Since the revelations as to the meat horrors at Chicago increased vigilance has been displayed on the part of the authorities throughout the United Kingdom, and a number of reports received by the Home Office from inspectors of factories reveal the fact that filthy conditions prevail at several jam factories \ arid bakehouses in Great Britain and Ireland, as well as in the sausage shops in Whitechapel kept by Germans. - '"' '-■' '
