MANUKAU STEAMSHIP CO.

An extraordinary meeting of the Manukau Steamship Company was held on Monday night in the Public Hall, Onehunga. Mr. E. H. Potter, managing director, was- in the chair. There were . also present: Messrs. Gray, Caven, -Albrecht, Michaels. < Barribal, and Harrison (directors), and a large number of shareholders. The chairman explained the object for which ' the meeting had been called. He said that although the company had been doing quite as well as they expected, he regretted that no dividend had as yet been paid, on account of 'financial and other reasons. He'' hoped that the successful negotiations with the Northern -,'S.S. Company would meet with their approval. ,1. He said shareholders would be paid up in full, or an equivalent- value /in shares in the Northern S.S. Company, which latter alternative lie strongly advised them to adopt, as they would then have an interest m a paying concern. He hoped shareholders would give the new owners practical support,/ and thereby help on their district. : Mr. Gittos, the company's solicitor, read the agreement between the companies concerned. He then moved : "That the com: pany be wound up voluntarily, under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1903.", Mr. Entrican seconded, and the motion was carried. Messrs. Potter and A. J. ,'i Entrican were appointed liquidators for winding up the affairs of the company. A ; meeting will be held in a fortnight, to .! confirm the.resolution passed last night. .1
