FATAL ACCIDENTS.

;.-• , Nelson, Monday. A Murchison settler named Walter Neame was killed by a trap accident near Lyell. No details are available. Neame was well known in connection with his narrow escapewhen 'Sewell attempted to blow up' the Murchison Courthouse with dynamite, killing himself and ..injuring others.
A fatal boat accident occurred on Saturday in the Motueka River, -which is is fleod. Three young men. were crossing in a canoe near the site of the new bridge, and were" earned down stream by a strong current on to some staging in the river. ; The canoe overturned, and one of the occupants, Reuben Grooby, aged 17, son of Mr. Thomas Grooby, of Rocky River, was drowned. The other two occupants, Wilson (a, carpenter, employed on bridgework), and Gordon Grooby (a. cousin of deceased) escaped by climbing up the staging.
