[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION*.] CrißiSTcnuHcn, Wednesday. • ■ At the Adrtington live.stock market to-day there were fairly large entries of fat sheep, cattle, and pigs, and moderate entries of il other classes of stock. Store sheen- showed an improvement in demand' and prices, anil fat lambs were hardly so brisk of sale as the week before. Fat sheep again sold well, and there was it rise in price of ewe.?. Tliere was a hotter demand for heel', and prices all round were better. Fat piss sold very well, and ■■'■: best dairy' cows were in fairly good de.ruand. There was practically no (-ale for --tore cattle. '."..';• ■■:■. ' Store sheep : The yarding of store sheep ' f : was made up principally of hoggets and: ewes, ~ ' the latter being mostly aged sorts. There was a keen demand for all classes, hoggets '■ tolling briskly at advanced prices. Fat lambs: There were 3350 la lambs f yenned, the bulk beina of very moderate ;- duality. Though competition was not so keen the prices were well up to the previous week's rates. Best lots made 17s 6d to 20s; a few extra pens, to 23s lid: lighter. 15? to 17s. > Fat sheep: There was a fairly large yarding of fat sheer., but the quality was not so good •'•'* as the previous week, there not being such a large proportion of half-bred wethers. There were, however, some prime line;; of !' wethers and ewes offered, am.' a keen demand was maintained throughout the sale, prime ewes showing a- considerable improvement in >■ prices. The range of prices was: Prime % wethers. 22s to 255; extra. 28s; lighter, 19s i to 2.1s 6d ; prime ewes, 2'Js to 235; extra, to 25s fl 3d: medium. 17s to 19s 6d; aged. 12s to 16s 6d. Fat cattle: The entry of fat cattle totalled ! , 218 head of better all round duality than of -,i late. There was a good demand, and! better !>' competition resulted in a general advance in prices. (Steers brought £6 5s to £11 10s: P heifers, £5 os to £9 15s; and cows, £4 15s to 'f ' £9 10s, equal to 23s 6d to 25a for prime, and -■ 17s to 22s for inferior to medium, per 1001b. ;"- Veal calves sold at 7s 6d to £2 14s. .Store and dairy cattle: A small mixed entry of store, cattle brought low prices, there being ; ■''. practically no demand. The best sorts of dairy cows met with a rather better inquiry, sale* being made ui> to £8 ss. , Pigs: There was s large yarding of fat ,;' pigs, but few stores, and there was v good sale for, baconers and porkers at about the 'A previous week's rates.
