Congratulating Mr. Justice Booth on taking his seat on the Supreme Court Bench yesterday, I Mr. l'ennefather. expressed regret that the appointment had not been made from the' Bar of the State. After eight months' hard work he received information that his services would be no longer required, as the .Government nad no intention of confirming the appointment.

The vacancy filled by Mr. Booth was caused by the retirement of Chief Justice Stone.
