NEW ZEALAND EXHIBITION.

HARBOUR BOARD VOTES £250.

A letter was received by the Harbour Board yesterday from the Chamber of Commerce, in pursuance of resolutions adopted at a recent meeting, requesting the Board to contribute towards an Auckland court at the Christchureh Exhibition. The chairman (the Hon. E. Mitchelson) said he noticed that the City Council passed a sum of £250, .conditionally upon the Board granting a similar amount. It seemed almost a ■ pity that, the Council should make i..e stipulation, ana lie moved, "That tho letter be referred to the Finance and Legal Committee." Mr. Basley said that this would mean a fortnight's delay. Mr. Ereewn said it was a large amount to vote, but Luis was an exceptional case. He moved. " That a vote of £250 be passed." , This was agreed to without further discussion.
