About 1000 were bought by graziers or passed in. Fat Sheep: There was a good entry of fat sheep, both as to numbers and quality. Cornpetition for wethers was hardly so keen, and prices were a shade easier, but. there was a good demand for ewes, and prime sorts were rather better in value. Fat Cattle: The number of fat cattle penned was 243. there being only a small proportion of good ■ steers, a few cows, and a number of light-weight heifers. There was a. dull sale, and prices were easier all round. Steers sold at £5 fts to £10: heifers, £4 los to £7 12s 6d: and rows. £4 •'» to £ & 10?, equal to 19s and 20s for prime, and los to 12* for inferior and medium quality, per 1001b.
