Cabruthers conferred with Mr. Deakin with reference to the Commonwealth taking over Norfolk Island. They arrived at an arrangement to take over the island. which proposal the Premiers' Conference subsequently confirmed. It will be taken over on the same footing as New Guinea, and will not be subject to the Commonwealth tariff.
