PIETERMAEITZBURG, April 8. The pursuit of the rebel chief Bambaala is being vigorously pushed on.
By an arduous night march the troops occupied a point overlooking Impanza, and shelled several of the kraals, killing the chief henchman of Bambaala.

PIETERMARITZBURG, April 9. The rebel chief Bambaala has enercd Zululand.
The chief Ellindi and 1000 other loyal natives are co-operating with Colonel Leuchars' pursuing force.
Magwataba, a loyal chief, who was captured by the rebels, has escaped, and is now with the magistrate at Kramtz Kop.
The magistrate at Weenen reports that the chief Silware declined Bambaala's overtures, and arrested two of his emissaries. Patrols at Impanza have shot several isolated parties of rebels. SPEECH BY LORD CUBZOX. London, April 8. Lord Curzon, speaking at the Pilgrim Club's dinner in London, said if Natal was lost the British would be on the way to lose the Empire. Lord Milner had administered South Africa in the interests of the people. A long succession of Viceroys had administered India in the same spirit, and he hoped they would always continue to do so.
