Wellington', Monday. At the inquest on W. J. Rountree, a steward, who died on Saturday as the result of wounds self-inflicted on March 27, a verdict of temporary insanity was returned. The evidence showed that deceased did not want money. The coroner remarked that a sad feature of the case was that this was the third Wellington steward who had committed suicide.

At the Magistrate's Court to-day the Carterton Farmers' Union, the North Island Mild Cure Bacon Company, and the directors of tne Pahiatua Era newspaper were each fined 20s, and costs £3 10s, for having failed to send to the registrar of companies the annual list of members and a summary of business.
