SENSATIONAL INCIDENT IN SWASON-STREET.

CONSTABLES THREATENED WITH A GUN. A .viher sensational incident occurred at a house in Swanson-street last night when a man named Smith was arrested on a charge of wilful damage to property. On being informed that a disturbance was going on Constables Ross and Halliday went to the house and* demanded admittance, but they had some trouble in getting in, as the man was armed with a gun, and it is alleged that he pointed it at them and told them to get out. The constables, however, were not daunted' by the threat. They pluckily advanced on the man, said succeeded in throwing him down and disarming him It was then found that the gun was an old one, and not capable of doing much harm.
