LIABILITY OF TRADES UNIONS.
AN APPEAL ALLOWED.
By Telegraph —Press Association. Copyright. London, February 27. The Court of Appeal has allowed the appeal against the verdict of the jury and Mr. Justice Darling's judgment, giving Messrs. Ward, Lock, and Company a sum of £850 by way of damages against the Operative Printers' Assistants' Society for the officials of the society having induced workmen to break contracts for service, and caused a nuisance by picketing. The dispute arose through the company refusing to employ unionists.
The point at issue in the above case is j the same as in the Taff Vale railway strike j case of 1902, and Bills dealing with the 1 question, introduced by the Government, and also by Sir Charles* Dilke, are now be- j fore Parliament. ;
