LOST AT SEA.

Wellington*, Wednesday. The inquiry concerning the disappearance of Charles Field, a passenger by the Corinthic, who was last seen on board the vessel on Sunday during the run from Hoba,rt to Wellington, was conducted to-day. Captain David explained that he had warned Field in a friendly way that he sltould brace up in order *.) pass the medical examination at Wellington, but he. did not make any sort of threat, and Field, who at first appeared to have misunderstood him. afterwards wrote apologising and thanking him. lv\idonee was given bv the ship's officers to show that there was no reason to suspect that Field would commit suicide. The coroner said the evidence showed that 1 ield was lost, at sea, but how he gob into the water there was nothing to show.
