MR. J. COUCH.
[Bt TELEGRAPH.OWN COBBBSPONDEN'T.] Whangaeei, Tuesday.
This morning (sergeant Drake received ai telegram stating that Joseph Cough had expired suddeidy at Parua Bay last (Monday) night." Though not absolutely certain, it is thought highly probable that the message refers to Mr. J. 0. W. Cough, representative <fi the Manaia Riding on the Whangarei County Council, who attended the last monthly meeting of that body on January 10, and was then apparently in a normal state of health. Arrangements have been made for holding an inquest on the body, and for that purpose the district coroner (Mr. J. M. Killen), accompanied by (.'unstable McDonnell, left the Town Wharf at half-past two p.m. No details of the Had occurrence are so fad- available.
