: Berlin - December 20. J ; The Tageblatt says there are indications that Sir H. Campbell-Banner-man is about to initiate a diplomatic discussion regarding the differences between Great Britain and Germany with a view to making the relations of the two nations friendlier. <^:;
It'; adds .* "It. is understood, that Prince von Bulow has congratulated in particularly warm terms f Sir H. Campbell-Bannerruan on succeeding to power and Sir Edward Grey on his appointment as Minister for Foreign Affairs, and that their replies were equally friendly. King Edward and the Kaiser latterly have expressed a wish that , everything should be done to remove the existing discord.

The Berlin correspondent of the Daily News says the rumour there that Sir H. Campbell-Bannerman is taking official steps in the direction of creating .better relations with Germany is of rather doubtful authenticity. ;.;.,. ' " ;:: '':' : ' ."''■.':'■'"'. !

The Prime Minister (Sir H. Campacknowledging a resolution passed at a great meeting held under the auspices of the Merchants' Guild of Berlin, said he entirely reciprocated the desire of the members of the Merchants' Guild for the establishing and maintaining of a friendly feeling between the British and German peoples.
