The first match of the season'took' place "at the Thames bowling green this afternoon between the Remuera Club and the Thame?, and resulted in on easy win for the former club by 31 points. The enjoyment of the visitors was somewhat marred by heavy rain setting in during the previous night, which not only prevented play in the morning, but made the green heavy and difficult for the afternoon's play. The following are the scores— -.'• No. 1 rink: Remuera—Wilkinson, Dive, Gamble, Clerk' (skip)— v. Thames— Sykea, Jordan, Jngl is (skip)lß. - No. 2 rink: Remuera—A. Clark, Burton, Stevenson, Dingwall (skip)—2B, v. Thames— Newman, Wood; A. Court (skip)— 9. * '.■.-.';■-.■. ■ K0.v.3 rink: Remuera—Sanderson, Finlayson, Hegmnn, O. Court (skip)— 24, v. Thames—Aitken, MeCiillough, Dodd, Paul (skip)— 22. ... : Totals: Remuera, 80; Thames, 49. The match was won by Remuera from start to finish. They got away with a good load on the first few heads, and gradually increased it as the game progressed. The Remuera players left for Te Aroha by the evening• train,' and play a match with the Te Aroha Club to-morrow. . ;. ;
