DISTRIBUTION OF PRIZES.
TAMAKI WEST SCHOOL;
The annual prize, evening was held in the Tamaki West school on Friday, November 17. Presentations in token af- their esteem having been made by the children to Miss Bongard and to Mr. Gatenby (head teacher), and the prizes, to the number of over 70, having been distributed, the room was cleared for dancing, which continued until after midnight. The children and the large number of parents and friends present were entertained at, supper in the marquee by Mrs. Donaldson, wife of the chairman of committee, for whom cheers were heartily given. The following is the prize list: —Standard Til.: John Hornernan, most popular boy in school (by vote of children). Standard VI. : Olive Phillipson, Gwendoline Goldsbro'. Virginia Donaldson, Myrtle Atkinson, Leonard Brookfield, A. Brookfield, Charles Goldsbro'. Standard V.: It. Wyllie. H. Phillipson. Standard IV. H. Turnbull, G. Ward, L. Phillipson, 11. Coates, B. Maeky, E. Mitchell and I. Ireland (most popular girl). Standard III.: G. Byers, G. Wyllie. Standard II.: E. Ward, D. Hay, I. Byers, M. Wyllie, M. Paul. Standard 1.: B. Mason, V. Donaldson, M. : Jones. Primers: 11.. Hay, E. Goldsbro', 11. Crawshaw, K. Mclndoo, V. Scarboro', A. Mitchell, C. Goldsbro'', D. Mclndoe. The committee's best thanks are due to those who generously subscribed to the prize fund.
