ADMIRAL FANSHAWE'S FAREWELL.
WHERE THE COMMAND WILL BE
TRANSFERRED. After a residence amongst us for a period of almost three years (says the Sydney Morning Herald of . Thursday last), His Excellency Admiral Sir Arthur D. Fanshawe, K. 0.8., Commander-in-Chief of the Australian station, will take his final departure from Sydney at ten o'clock this morning by his' flagship; H.M.s. Euryalus. He returned yesterday morning j'rom a. flying, visit to Melbourne, and before noon his secretary (Mr. Luckham) and staff, who accompany him, vacated Admiralty House. His Excellency paid a visit to Government House, and made other official calls, and then boarded his flagship in readiness for his journey Homo. Captain Neisigh, representing- General -Finn, called on board the Euryalus in - the afternoon. From Sydney.the Euryalus will proceed direct to Fremantle, where she is due on the 22nd or 23rd 'hist., and will there remain to meet H.M.s. Powerful, the flagship of Vice-Admiral Sir Wilmot Hawks-'; worth Fawke.% K.C.V.0., who succeeds Admiral Fanshawe." The Powerful is expected at the West Australian port on' December 1, and upon her /.arrival' Admiral Fanshawe will transfer his command of the Australian station to his successor. '. The voyage of the Euryalus will be resumed on December 3, and she is due to arrive at Gibraltar on New Year's Day, and will leave again on January 2. From there the warship will proceed direct to her destination, "Plymouth; The future movements of the Euryalus are not yet known. On her arrival at Plymouth her crew will be' paid off, and it is probable the vessel will for a time go into reserve. Admiral Fanshawe has not yet been advised of his next command. '■ .' '
