The Rudge-Whitwortb bicycle road race, from Mangere to Papakura and back, took place on Saturday afternoon. The wreathe! being-perfect, a large number of cyclists and members of the Auckland Cycling Club turned out to sec the finish. C. Piper finished in the fastest time, and won the gold medal, valued at £3 3s. G. Probert was first in, and won a i silver ! medal,, valued ,at £1 ss; A. G. Mason finished secondhand took the medal valued at £1; and: B. Moberly finished third, receiving a silver medal. . A special prize, :, presented by Mr. H. J. Feilder, all* went to the winner.
