[Br TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dtinscik, Monday. Hknhy Johnston, fireman on the steamer Invercargill, dropped dead in Princes-street this evening. He' had been suffering from heart disease. The fund for the erection - of. a medical ward at the Dunedin Hospital is making good progress. Up to the present £3619 has been raised out of the £4500 required. John Blackwood, aged M, was found dead in a house in Union-street early this morning. Death was apparently due to hemorrhage of the lungs. The Tourist. Department has made ar- ' rangements for the erection of commodious ! diningrooms an Beech Hut, on the overland route to the 'Sutherland Falls and Milford Sound. Accused had been previously convicted three times this year for a similar offence. Feuding, Monday. The ceremony of blessing the foundation of the Roman Catholic Convent was performed by Archbishop Redwood yesterday in the presence of a large gathering. The amount subscribed was £400.
