PUKEKURA ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Pukckura Road Board was held at Cambridge on Friday last. Present: Messrs. It. Fisher (chairman), K. Morrison, J. Kceley, J. Anderson, and It. Reynolds.

Mr. W. Yosper notified that he desired a road through section 16-1 thrown open. Left to the chairman to confer with Mr. Vosper. The Board having raised objection to what it considered the unfairness of district valuations in the l'ukekura district always being made ahead of any other district, wrote, through the Waipa County Council, to the Valuation Department. The. oflicer in charge wrote in reply, explaining the reason of this, and also adding that there did not appear to be any serious injustice done to the owners of land in the Pukekura road district. Received.

Mr. Reynolds reported that Messrs. J. and G. Sickle were willing to allow the. Board to cart metal from the quarry on their property for 12 months, free of cost, provided they metalled the road on either side of their entrance gate. It was decided to thank Messrs. Nickle for their generosity, and to say that the Board would probably at a later date avail themselves of the offer.

The matter of gravelling the Mystery Creek Road was referred to a committee, consisting of the chairman and Messrs. Anderson and Morrison, with power to act. The letter from'the American Bridge Company as to the Cambridge high level bridge (read at the last meeting of the Waipa. County Council) was read. After brief discussion, it was decided to reply that the Board, although it sympathised with the company in the treatment it" had received, had nothing to do with the preliminary matters. The members then sat as the Cambridge West Domain Board. Mr. Keeley submitted a report of the planting that had been carried out on the Domain reserves, which showed that during 190105 no less than 793 trees and shrubs had been planted. Mr. Reynolds gave notice of the following motion: " That leaseholders shall keep the old boundary fences in repair, and the Board will maintain the new ones only."
