MANGHURIAN CAMPAIGN. ..JAPANESE FORCED TO RETREAT. RUSSIANS IN MONGOLIA. By .Telegraph.— Association.— i [■ London, July 25. General Linevitch reports that two columns on July 20 forced the Japanese to evacuate positions to the north of Yulangtze (on the road from Kaiyuen to Kirin) and to retreat upon a fortified post to the westward. The Russians, he adds, experienced great difficulty in attacking this fortified post and retreated northward. General Linevitch is making free use of Mongolian territory for his military' operations despite the protests of China. - . There are, on the other hand, persistent reports from Russian sources that the Japanese are executing a turning movement through Mongolia and are on the march 80 miles within that province. .'.,.'.; Heavy rains have fallen in Manchuria and in consequence the rivers are in flood and the roads are kneedeep in mud. i? - ■ TUMEN RIVER OPERATIONS.
