The annual meeting: of the Hamilton Ladies' Hockey Club was held on Saturday. Mrs. Biewis, president, presided. The secretary reported that Mr. Swarbrick'l paddock would not be available for play this season. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. aMcl Mrs. Swarbrick for their many kindnesses to the club during the past three fleasons. The following officers were elected: — President. Mrs. Hrewis; vice-president, Miss NcwMl: committee, Misses Sarnies, Swarbrick, Blade, Cussen, Stevens, B. Kdgeeumbe, Holloway, and .1. Graham. Miss Swarbrick, who has acted as secretary since the club started, having resigned the position, Miss H. Graham was appointed. Captain, Miss Handes; de-puty-captain. Mies 15. Kdgeeumbe. After the meeting a short frame was played, the Rev. X. O. W. Radclift'e acting as coach and referee. FOOTBALL. HAMILTON RUGBY UNION. There was glorious weather on Saturday for the opening of the football season at Hamilton. There was a good attendance, and £2 14s 9d was collected at the gates. City and No. 1 met. The latter .earn were; too strong for their opponents, and when time was called had 15 to nil to their credit. Three tries were scored, one of which was converted.
