Mr. Deakin as leader, as Mr. Isaacs is not considered to carry sufficient weight lor the position. FALL IN REVENUE. Melbourne, May 2. 'The Commonwealth's revenue returns for 10 months show a decrease of £377,000. 1& seems likely that the Treasurer's estimate for the year" will not be reached by £100,000. 'The Federal Treasurer has issued a finan- ■ cial statement in which he amends his .estimates of revenue. The revenue for the year, he estimates at £11,312,000. instead of £11,570,000, and the surplus returnable to the States, he stales, at £6,986,000, instead of £7,139.000.
