WEDDINGS.
• J : Tin; marriage of -Mr. W. R. Stone, of Auckland, and Miss Annie Brophy, only daughter) of Mr. J'. Brophy, of Mount Eden, took! place Lit St. Benedict's Church, Newton, on) Thursday. Bishop Lenihan officiated, as-, sisted by the Rev. Fathers Gillan, McMillan,) and Dignau. The bride was given away by{ her father, the Misses Lynch and Fleming^ 1 (cousins of the bride) and Miss Ella Browne*. being the bridesmaids. Mr. W. E. Hackettf i acted as best ma.ii, the other groomsmen!, being Messrs. M. J. Lynch and P. J + Hackctt. The church was crowded withrelative? and friends of the happy couple* and the "Wedding March" was played by Mr. T. Gusscott as the bridal party left thai church. After the ceremony, the newlymarried coup-.' and about 100 guests pro-! ceeded to tho residence of Mr. Brophy, " Ormond," Mount Eden, where a, sumptuous wedding breakfast was provided. Bishop Lenihan presided. The usual toasts word proposed and responded to* In the after-, noon Mr. and Mrs. Stone left for Welling-: ton, en route to Australia, where they in+ tend spending their honeymoon. The bride was the recipient of a "large and valuable collection of presents from all parts of the colony. A pretty wedding took place at the Port! Albert Wesleyan Church on Wednesday, April 26, 'between Mr. P. James, of Bickerstatic, Maungaturoto, and Miss May Dudding, second daughter of Mr, Wm. Duddiag. Wharehine. The officiating minister was the Rev. C. Griffin, Warkwcrth. The bride, Mho was given away by her lather, wore a gown of cream voile, with veil and orange blossoms. The bridesmaids were her sisters* Misses Kate and Mabel Budding, and lieu cousin, Miss Annie Payne. In the afternoon, a reception and afternoon tea was given at tho residence of Mr. Duddiug, and? later on the newly-married couple left foe the Wairua. The wide regard felt for the bride was shown by the large number, quite tilling tho church, who were present at the marriage; also by the many guests at the Inter repast. Miss Dudding. as a vocalist, will be greatly missed at future concerts.* etc.. in this neighbourhood, and will certainly meet with .1- cordial Welcome at say] future visits. y
