A HORSE JUMPS INTO A TRAP.

Timarc, Thursday. Ax accident of » peculiar nature happened near Fairlie. Two men were driving from Fairlie to Tekapo, and on© of them was leading a horse behind the vehicle. Two cyclists suddenly coming up behind so frightened the led horse as to cause it to jump into the vehicle between the two occupants. This so startled the horse in the shafts that it bolted, with the result that both of the men were thrown out of the vehicle and rendered unconscious. One of the men, who was smoking at the time, had the stem of his pipe forced through his cheek.
