Referred to the- "Works anil Tariff Committee. Lucas' Creek: Mr. 11. M. Wilson, engineer to the Waiiemata. County Council, wrote stating that complaints bad been made that pine trees were growing right across the Lucas' Creek channel, thereby preventing scows from (.retting across to the landing. It was resolved to 'reply that the Board recognise* no liability in the matter. Works and Tariff Committee: The following recommendations of the Works and Tariff Committee were adopted:—That the Riverhoad Taper Mills Company be informed that the Hoard doe-; not recognise any liability in regard to the depositing of nightsoil J at bfnrkius' l'oinl ; that no more refuse from i the deck bo deposited on the Hobson-street I reclamation: that the request made by | Messrs. .1. .J. Holidays: The Finance, and Legal ComJ ii'iltee. reporting on Mr. Daere's motion ' (moved ,v Ihr previous meeting), advised I that: "The following days be observed as | holidays:Xiiv Year's Dcv, January 2, An- ! versa Day. Good Friday, Easter Monday, ! ■Sovereign's Birthday. Christmas Day, BoxI ing Day, and such oilier days as the Board may from time to time, by special resolution, declare to be wharf holidays.
