. —_ ,g» The annual report of the Friendly. Societies' : :' Dispensary and Medical Institute shows that the net capital value of the institutions;: ; now stands r at £1241, as against £631 a year, ago. The membership is now 2335 adult males, 110 females, and 36 juveniles, and, in addition, 184 adult male, 14 female, and 13 juvenile subscribers to the dispensary only. During the year 24,393 prescriptions ;' had been dispensed. The two" medical officers are Dr. C. 0. Murphy and Dr. W. Scott Brockway, and the Board believed the time had arrived when a third - medical 1 officer should be appointed. The officers of the institutions for the present year have been appointed as follows:—President, Brother R. Armiger; vice-president, Brother 'P. J. Nerheny; secretary. Brother 0.Wheeler; and treasurer, Brother S. G. Burns; and the following members of the Board:—Brothers R. Gray (A.C.), A. Lowrie (M.U.), W. Hunter (U.A.Q.D.), A. A. Piesse (U.A.0.D.), S. C. Holdsworth (A.C.), W. A. Parker (M.U.), R. Young (X.0.), and J. H. Field (P.A.). It was resolved that it be a recommendation to the Board to procure a merit board, and that the name of the retiring president ■ (Brother John McLeod) be placed on it.
