KUBANTJI G.M. CO. Aw extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in the Knranui Gold Mining Com-, pauy-was held yesterday, at the office of the : secretary .(Mr.- J. W. Nichol), to consider ; -': special resolutions. ; Mr. J. M. Lennox presided. He referred to a telegram received from the mine managsr 4at Hioruiitig, "to the effect, that nice diiba of gold, had been- met- with in breaking down' -the Shotover : : ieaf. * : The ■- : Chairman, said this was the most important news the present company had received. He then moved formal resolutions providing for the increase of the company's capital to £25,000 ; by creating 40,000 new shares at 5s each; 30,000 to be otkred to shareholders on the ' register ■'■ on :■ November 15, at : the : rate pi one for every two, then held shareholders to pair 2d on application for the new shares, 2d on allotment, and to be entitled to certiScateo for shares applied for paid -tip..to 2s SI each; this remaining 10,000 ehan&s and'-', any, of "ihe" 30,000 .not applied for to be held, .in f reserve, and to be dealt with, by the directors at not less than 2d 3d per share,-as they might deem expedient. The annual meeting ot shareholders in the Golden Spark Gold Mining Company called for yesterday at the office ■ of the legal manager (Mr. EL GfifiU«n, jun.) lapsed for want of a quorum. The report tof ; the, directors stated that, • as .the, result of further work done in, the mine, the prospects had very much improved. The whole of the 16,000 forfeited shares offered to shareholders recently had 'been applied for. The mine manager's; report stated that, an, entirely v.m ; block - of ground, was being opened up in the rise, with abundance of backs, an he strongly advised the continuance hi : the rise, as he considered it likely to open, up rich ore at any time. The balance-sheet showed a cash, balance of £86 lis 74 . , - „,.".■
WAlffl GRAND .JUNCTION G.M. CO. [by' , TEIKG»AFH, —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Waihi, Friday. f The Waihi Grand Junction Gold Mining Company liave accepted a tender for extavatihg the battery" site. The crosscut at No. 3 level has now penetrated the main lode for its full width. Its width is 38ft from wall to wall. - The lode is split up a good deal in places, but, taking it all through, the manager considers its width and .value's augur well for future development. ; The crosscut is now 'being extended with the object of picking up the No. 2 lone* and this should be to .hand in about '38ft more driving.
