MEETINGS.
AUCKLAND GRAMMAR SCHOOL BOARD. A MEETING of the Auckland Grammar School Board was held yesterday, Professor Brown presiding.. There were also present: The Hon. J. A. Tola and Professor Thomas. The financial statement showed a cash balance of £1554 0* Id) of which £480 was on fixed deposit. Accounts totalling £1163 16s Id were passed for payment. ' ' ACCOUNTANTS' ASSOCIATION. The last lecture of the 1904 series, given under the auspices of the New Zealand Accountants and Auditors' Association, was delivered by Mr. Hugh Campbell, barrister-at-law, at the Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday evening. The subject was " Company Law," and was treated by Mr. Campbell in a very clear and able manner. The history of company law and the principal divisions and most Important features of the New Zealand statute were touched upon and explained at some length. The lecturer recommended those who were interested in company promotion, 83 well as those who were secretaries or auditors, or candidates for those positions, to make themselves as fully acquainted as possible with the main provisions of the 1903 Act, which, he remarked, was a particularly well drafted measure. At the conclusion of the proceedings .Mr. Campbell received a hearty vote of thanks for his lecture. There were present some 50 members of the association and other gentlemen interested in accountancy work.
