OPERA HOUSE.
THE patronage of Fuller's Empire Company, at the Opera House, shows no sign of waning. /. Every Item in the first part was well received last night, and every item was encored. Mr. Will Stevens, gave no less than five songs, and Miss Gertrude; Eraser's expresslra bwllad singing was very greatly appreciated. The Musical Johnstons were loudly applauded for their extremely clever and artistic- . xylophone performance, and Mr. Denis Carney again caused shrieks of laughter with his address on " Man." The Nitwits' • pretty . sketob, " Major Bourke, H.M.5.," was as well reoelved as it war capably acted. The performance all through was one at (she Empire Company's best. This evening the Nawrts produce " One Touch of Nature," and to-morrow Miss Ivy Nlcholls, a new serio and dancer, and Mies Eileen Capel, a very clever juvenile, will make their first appearance. HIS MAJESTY'S. There was again a crowded house at His Majesty's last evening, a flattering testimony to the all-round excellence of the Bickards Vaudeville Company. It Was Impossible to single out any item for special comment, all being most cordially received. There will be a complete change or programme this evening, when Will Van Allen, the musical tramp, will introduce several new numbers into his entertainment. There will only be two more perfcrmatlcsn after to-night. To-morrow there will be a matinee performance, when the same programme as presented in the evening will be 'given. , ■ ;. THE WOODS-WILLIAMSON DRAMATIC COMPANY. . , ' On Tuesday next " The Garden of Lies" will be staged for the first tone in the colonies, by the Woods-Williamson Dramatic Company, a His Majesty's Theatre. Last night great enthusiasm prevailed at the final rehearsal for Mr. Hill's concert, which takes place at the Choral Hall to-night, and music-lovers may expect a great treat. Tho new composition of Mr. Hill's, entitled " Tangi," and the duet from " Hinemoa," in the hands of Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Hodges, should prove attractive features.
