A REMEDY TO BE- TESTED.*.... The latter wrote applying for permission to give Westrumits &, trial for the. keeping down of dust. Tie company suggested sprinkling Ponsc-H-" Road, Symonds-street and ; a portion of Er rangahape Road with this invention, They had five tons:of it -in stock, which would - sprinkle about seven or eight miles of road- • ways The manufacturers claimed that tfcw ■ had sprinkled certain streets in Europe with • . ' Westrumite where --the roads had lasted for , 10 weeks, and ware, at tho time of inspection, * in, good condition. Westrumite #&* used on the track for the Gordon Bennett motor car race, with good results. Including freight, landing charges and insurance, \ ' the cost of the -Westrumite on hand delivered in Auckland amounted to £95. • The company expressed willingness to bear this expense in order to give the material* S trial, - providing the Council provided the water, sprinkling i carls and all necessary : labour, the sprinkling to be done under the \ company's supervisicn.
