While six French torpedo-boats were manoeuvring off Dunkirk, the swell of the sea caused a torpedo to( escape from one of the boats. The torpedo ,■ struck the torpedo-< boat Grenadier, which was proceed-" ing at full speed. Though seriously damaged, the! ! Grenadier managed 'to regain the? port.
