SHOPS AND OFFICES BILL.

PROTEST BY AUCKLAND WAREHOUSE EMPLOYEES. A tAItCTiT-ATTESEED and thoroughly representativa meeting of warehouse employees was held at the Auckland Commercial Travellers and Waiehousemen's Club rooms yesterday. Mr. C. H." Johfci presided. Tha following resolution to be forwarded to the Premier was unanimously adopted on the motion of Mr. SquirreU:— "The warehouse employees of Auckland respectfully request the Government to have the Shops and Offices Bill so amended in Council that offices of warehouses may »© exempted, and strongly resent legislation being forced upon them in face of the unani- . mous protects evidenced by petitions to both ■! Erases." The resolution was telegiriiipbed to the Premier after the meeting. It was decided to send as delegates to Wellington Messrs. Squirrell (A. Clark and Steal)) and H. Keesjng (A- H. Nathan and (Jo.) to give evidence before the House. A iUb-comihUtee was appointed, consisting of Messrs. C. H. Jones, H. A. Keesing, J. Squirrel!, G. Barney, W. P. Baker and J. Arbeit, with instructions to communicate : witb members of both Houses and to report ' to the ether centres the action being taken by Auckland employees.
