Dcxr.mx, Wednesday. At the meeting of. the Baptist Union to-day th» election of officers resulted as follows:---President, Rev. J. J. North; vice-president, Mr. A. S. Adams; secretary, Rev. .1. S. Gray; treasurer, Mr. A. C. fiidgey; Baptist editor, Rev. F. W. Bortham; editor of the almanac, Rev. D. G. Masou; financial secretary, Mr. P. Peters.
It was decided to . launch a scheme for providing a manse for each minister and inaumrate a. manse fund to be raised by direct sifts and loans on non-interest bearing debentures : for fixed periods, a fund of at least £5000 to be aimed at. A committee comprising Messrs. O. W. Gibson; A. S. Adams, T. A. Maitiaud, G. L. Garlick, and H. M. Smeeton was appointed to manage the fund. A deputation from the' Presbyterian Church y?aE introduced and speeches expressive of mutual goodwill exchanged.
