POVERTY DAY SHOW.

[lit TELEGKArH.— PEESS ASSOCIATION.] Gisbobxe, Wednesday. At the Poverty Bay A. and P. show the sheep and cattle were not up to the average in number, though the quality was high. The chief features of the show were the horse classes, especially for harness .and saddle. Holden Bros, won the* prize for the champion cow. A. McKenzie secured the championship in the sheep classes. The number of sheep shown was quite disappointing. King Jimmy again won the hunters' competition out of 12 entries. Tin; judge declared tho troop horses to be tho best seen on any showground in New Zealand. Witter Pro?, won the first and 1 second prizes with Bugler and Starlight. Out of 17 entries for polo ponies, E. Monckton'a Lanie won the first prize. C. A. Sheriff won the first and second for. the pony driven by a lady. ' The tandem team was won by. Messrs. Redstone and Son. Great interest was taken in the Lloyd-Lind-say competition for troop horses, : which was won by Witters' section (who were winners at Napier). The leaping was won by Francis* Kirikiriroa, and the high ' jump by , Gouldsmith's Fencer. . ■
