RUSSIANS LOSS 1000 MEN.' ABANDON GUNS AND RETREAT (Received June 16, 10.59 p.m.) London, June 16. . Unofficial news received, at Tokio reports that a desperate battle has been fought at Fuchon, a place to the west of Wa-fang-tien, and about 80 miles north-west of Fort Adams. The Russians, it is stated, lost 1000 men. They abandoned their guns and retreated in disorder. Seven thousand of the retreating Russians have reached^Niuehwittig; and the others fled to Tashi»chiao. |
