MAYORAL ELECTIONS.
Last night Mr. John McMuhon, a candidate for the Onehunga Mayoralty, addressed a largely-attended meeting of ratepayers in the Public Hall, Onehunga. Mr. McMahon j invited the meeting to appoint a chairman, but this request was met with ironical cheers, and notwithstanding the candidate's repeated request it was not complied with. Mr. M eMail on then proceeded to address the meeting without a chairman, ilie speaker criticised the administration of the borough affairs, and answered a number of questions. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Wednesday. Mr. R. B. Williams was to-day elected unopposed as Mayor of Onslow. Messrs. Aitken. Hislop, and Wilford have been nominated for the Mayoralty of this city. . , , Hawera, Wednesday. Mr. R. C. Robbins, the retiring .Mayor, has been re-elected unopposed. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] Waihl;, Wednesday. Mr. A. Katz has retired from the Mayoral contest, so that the only two left for the ratepayer?' selection are Messrs. Foster and Gilmour. , . Messrs. King and Donaldson have been nominated for the seat on the Borough oun cil, rendered vacant by the resignation of Mr. Finn, and the election will take place on the 27 til ins**. Cambridge, Wednesday. Mr.' Thomas Wells has been re-elected unopposed to the Cambridge Mayoralty.
