TWO CONTRACTORS MISSING.
[liT TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] | Carterton, Saturday. Henry Gadwacladea, 20 years of age, a single man, and Ovfc-v Udy, 19 years of age, both natives ol Carterton, are missing. They left the Bush Hotel for Porotahh where they had a metalling contract, and ii is supposed that in an attempt to cross tli? Ruaraaluinga River, which was in flood, they were drowned. A horse supposed to belong to them was found on the river bank, but there was no trace ef the men. Large parties are out along the rivei banks to-day, j searching for the missing men. It is supposed Udy was washed off hir horse, and , that Cadwalladqr, who was his uncle, and a j splendid swimmer, went to his assistance, i with the result that both were drowned.
