AN INDUSTRIAL DISPUTE.
A DEFINITION WANTED. [BY TELEQEAriI. — ASSOCIATION.]
Napier, Monday. An* interesting decision was given by the stipendiary magistrate in a case in which the Napier Drivers' Industrial Union sought to get a definition of the term "light work." The magistrate held that the- case in dispute was one between the employer and the employee, and not between the employer and the union, and he could only give a definition. if the person said to be. aggrieved made a complaint and gave evidence concerning it. In his opinion, the union had no business to interfere in the mattei. Counsel for the union said they would have to get the decision of the Arbitration Court.
The Ala gist rate : My decision is final; so the award says.
