A fatal shooting accident occurred uear Kadina. South Australia, the other afternoon. A young man, Frederick Williams, was out with a party hunting, and when,' pulling a loaded gun from a trap by the muzzle the weapon exploded, the charge tearing away the muscles o Lis left arm. His companions bound the injured limb', and conveyed thr sufferer to Kadiua. During the journey he nearly bled to death, the arm had to be amputated, but Williams died from shock and loss of blood. The attention of the Minister for Customs, Sir William Lyne, has been directed to the fact that canned egsjs'in various forms have been entering the Commonwealth. These may be used in cooking as a substitute for the fresh article. No provision has been made for them under the tariff, but. the Minister has bow resolved that they shall bo charged duty on the basis of 6d per dozen, which rules iu the case of fresh eggs The duty payable will be calculated by the weight of the importations.
