LABOUR LEGISLATION.
PROTEST BY EMPLOYERS.
[by telegraph. —PßESS ASSOCIATION.] Saturday. Mr. Booth, president of the New Zealand Employers' Federation, to-day telegraphed to the Premier with respect to the refusal of the Labour Bills Committee to give the Vigilance Committee of the Federation the opportunity of being heard in respect to several labour Bills as follows :—" The Labour Bills Committee has refused to afford the organised employers the opportunity of being heard with respect to the working of the Compensation Bill, the Labour Bill, and other labour measures, alleging lack of time. We protest most strongly against such a high-handed action, and claim the right of employers to be heard by the committee concerning matters such as are of vital interest to them. This right has been admitted in the past, and there is no sound reason why it should now be refused. —(Signed); G. T. Booth, president/'
