No. 8 COMPANY, G.A.V.. RIFLE COMPETITION. Ox .Saturday last the members of the No. 8 Company. N.Z.G.A.V. (late Ponsonbj Navals), fitvd a match on the Akarami Rifle Range, at Avondale, for Sergt.-Major Spinley's medal, "the competition being open to all efficient second-clas/. shots of the company. The conditions provide that all matches shall be handicap matches, extra shots to be given in place of points, and the modal to be won twice before becoming the personal property of the winner. The day was not favourable, there being a strong wind, which rendered shooting difficult. S't.ven shots were fired at the 200 yds (kneeling). 300 yds and sCoyds (prone) ranges with handicap'.'.
