TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— which the local quidnuncs predicted will now come to pass. King Dick, at the end of his borrowing tether, proposes a Stato bank! The issue of inconvertible paper money will follow, with the result that in less than five years the credit of New Zealand will bo on a par with the average ot South American republics, i.e., at a discount of 25 per cent.—l am, etc., ÜBIQUE.
