AUCKLAND LICENSING COMMITTEE.

The. quarterly meeting of the Auckland Licensing Committee was held in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. Mr. H. W. Brabant (chairman) presided, and there were also present : Messrs. G-. Aickin, A. Rosser, and J. J. Craig. The following applications for transfers of licenses were granted: William J. Brewin (Mr. Colbeck) to Julia McAlister, Criterion Hotel; .Sydney W. . Buck (Mr. MeVeagh) to James Thomas Gray, Queen's Ferry Hotel; Victor Cornago (Mr. Nicholson) to Percy Isaacs, Royal Mail Hotel; executors- of Charles Edward Stone (Mr. Goldwater) to Alice Stone, Robert Burns Hotel. The police offered no objection to any of the applications, Sub-Inspector Black stating that there wore 110 complaints. 1 An application by Mr. McGregor on behalf .of the McGregor Steamship Company for a packet license for the s.s. Claymore was granted subject to the approval of the police.
