Plymouth. ; .y : Mr. - Thomas Riddle, second son of the Rev. 'J. P. Riddle, of Rakai'a, has been appointed by ' the Presbyterian Ohurch to take lip the work of the late Rev. T. Smaill, at the New Hebrides. Mr. Riddle took his literary course in New Zealand, and studied theology. at Edinburgh. He returned to the colony a few months ago. A' very pleasant ceremony took place at the rooms of the Rev. T. P. Eykyn, Devonport, when Mrs. Edward Wood was presented by the past and present pupils of Holy Trinity. Sunday-school with a handsome; pair of vases. Mrs. Wood has been teaching the, Bible class for over 20 years. A speech was read by Mr. A. J. Powley, on' behalf • of' the pupils. Music was indulged in, and a supper terminated a most enjoyable evening. ,
