KAUBI GUM MARKET.

The . following are our quotations of kauri gum for the week ending December 15,1902: —White gum: Poor ordinary, £40 and upwards; fair ordinary, £69 and upwards; bold, three-quarter scraped (free from nuts), £85 and upwards; East Coast (good quality), £90 and upwards; rescraped, £125 and upwards. Black gum: Nuts, £18 and upwards; medium (free from sugar), £24 and upwards j good, £60 and upwards. Seiharks on market: Arrivals for 15 days of December, 330 tons. There i 3 no change to record in the gum market; the chief demand is still for. the poorer qualities.

Fat cattle: The • 265 yarded were nearly all of good to prime quality, and a few extra heavy bullocks. Competition was easier all round, ' and ; a drop of from 3s to 4s per 1001b has to be recorded, best beef making to 31s, other sorts to 28s per 1001b.
