DR. TORREY'S MISSION.
[BY .XELKGRAI'H.— ASSOCIATION.] Chrtstchvrch, Thursday. Dr. Tokrey, at his meeting in the Canterbury Hall this evening, made a statement in regard to the financial aspect of his mission, in consequence of statements circulated here as to the remuneration of himself and Mr. Alexander. He said that both the Chicago Evangelisation Institute and his Saturday night Bible class offered to pay his expenses, and he had found out that the latter had been paying them every month. He, therefore, did net care at all, from a personal point of view what the congregations gave. If anything above his personal expenses was handed to him he supposed it would go to the Bible Institute. He had to engage Mr. Alexander, and he guaranteed him a certain amount, which was just a quarter of what Tie was receiving in America, but,, as a matter of fact, he had not had to pay Mr. Alexander a penny.
