Walter M. Hipgrave, for Sydney, with passengers and general cargo. THE VENTURA. The mail steamer Ventura, Captain H. M. Hayward, arrived from San Francisco, Honolulu, and Pago Pago shortly after 2 p.m. on June 10, and anchored In the quarantine ground for medical inspection. Dr. B. W. Sharman, the port health officer, proceeding off to the steamer shortly alter her arrival. After the usual inspection, and everything being in order, the Ventura was granted pratique, and berthed at the Queen-street Wharf, where the passengers and mails were landed, and the work of discharging cargo proceeded with. The Ventura has made a very good voyage of 18 days 6 honrs 39 minutes, including detentions, the actual steaming time being 17 days 15 hours 54 minutes. The steamer had a good number of passengers for New Zealand and Australia in all classes, and a very large cargo, consisting of 2340 tons, of which 1556 tons were for Auckland, included in which was a large shipment of flour. Mr. E. 11. Bucknam, the purser, to whom we are indebted for our flies and despatches, reports: The Ventura left San Francisco at 11.37 a.m. on May 22, and reached Honolulu on the morning of the 28th. Resumed the voyage at 11.2 p.m. the same date, and arrived at Pago Pago on the afternoon of June 4, leaving again at 8.15 p.m. the same date. Stopped for the Auckland pilot at 1.46 p.m. on June 10, anchoring as above. Experienced verv fine weather throughout the voyage. The Ventura proceeded on to Sydney at 7.30 p.m. on June 11.
