STORMY WEATHER.

SHIPPING DELAYED. By Telegraph-Press Association.-Copyright. j (Received May 1. 1 a.m.) Sydney, April 30. There is no improvement in the weather, and the sea is the roughest that has been experienced for years, greatly delaying shipping. Many vessels, including three Union coastal steamers, are anchored in the harbour, waiting for the weather to moderate. All coaling operations on the south coast jetties have stopped. There is a tremendous sea at Newcastle, end steamers, being unable to enter, are standing off or returning to Sydney. The Aorangi was 26 hours behind time from Brisbane, fighting against a moanUnions sea the whole way. She lay for several hours off the Heads before she ventured to enter. She escaped with little damage. The third officer was knocked downby a sea breaking over, and somewhat severely injured. The' Mission steamer John Williams, which sailed for, the Islands with a party of missionaries on April 21, has returned to port. A native missionary is suffering from measles. The vessel is considerably damaged by the storm, and a native sailor had his arm dislocated.
